White Ink Tattoo Healed. Justin showed me his portfolio of past white ink designs he had done, and was the first artist who didn’t literally cringe when i asked for a white ink tattoo. One tattoo artist from boston tattoo company explained that, once your tattoo heals, around 2mm of skin would sit on top of the white ink.
Would your black & grey tattoo be lightened? I have a calf tattoo that i’m probably going to black out at this point because i don’t see a way of covering it that i’d be happy with, and i’m considering my options for them going over it with a white ink design after, but every reference imagine i can find are fresh tattoos. When i was waiting at the tattoo parlor to get my first tattoo, a girl came out with what i thought was the most beautiful tattoo i had ever seen.
Blowouts occur when a tattooer inks too deep and they're the result of tattoo ink spilling throughout the layers of skin.
Black color would work fine. So do everyone a favor and post pics of your white tattoo, preferably fresh and healed, or even if something went wrong! Unlike black, white has a difficult time showing up and an artist may need to be more heavy handed when applying the highlights. How quickly does white ink fade?
